Konkan Beaches, A Place to Visit

The Konkan also called the Konkan Coast is a section of the western coastline of  India started from raigar to Manglore. There are many of stunning beaches along the entire Konkan coastal region. Many of those beaches yet to be discovered by the travelers. We are giving you an orientation of some of the beaches along the Konkan coast.

Few of the many beautiful beaches situated on the Konkan coastal line are Alibag, Guhagar, Harihareshwar, Kihim, Ganpatipule:

Alibag Beach

Located at a suitable distance from Mumbai as well as Pune, Alibag is the ideal place for those tourists who are looking for Virgin beaches and magnificent forts.

 

The beaches of Akshi and Nagaon

Situated on the way from Alibag to Revdanda about 8/9 KMs. From Alibag, gorgeous looking white sand beach with trees of surru surrounding the coast. The water is fresh and harmless for swimming.

Kashid Beach

Situated on the way to Murud, Kashid beach is another beautiful extended white sand and clear water beach. It is one of the best beaches of konkan.

Kihim Beach

At about 12 KMs, From Alibag, on the on the way to Mandwa. It is a favorite place of mumbaikars on weekends, as it is convenient to come to Kihim from Mumbai on Saturdays, for a day and than go back.

Murud Beach

Murud is a place where a lot of Hotels and Resorts near the beautiful beach. Besides the stunning beach Murud is also famous for the splendid sea fort Janjira at Rajapur which was remained unconquered.

Harihareshwar Beach

Harihareshwar is a famous pilgrim place for Hindus, with an ancient Temple of Lord Shiva and Kalbhairav. It is also known as Dakshin Kashi. Harihareshwar has a gorgeous rocky beach.

Diveagar Beach

Diveagar also known as the ancient capital of the Shilahar kings. a beautiful beach situated behind the Ganpati Temple which stretches up to 4-5 KMs. Unlike other beaches this beach is not very crowded.

Kelshi Beach

Kelshi is a characteristic small Konkani village. The 2.5 KMs, beach at Kelshi has a secluded and lovely beach and there are attractive sand dunes on the beach. As this is a small village therefore no hotels in kelshi but there are places where people offer lodging facilities in their homes.

Harne Beach

Harne is a big part of Konkan region. Lots of fishing trawlers and ships you can see everyday. Also famous for the big local fish market which gathers at the beach every morning. It is also a very different experience for tourists to take a round of this market and see how the buying a selling of fishes takes place.
