What stands out
When considering the programs for Portuguese citizens, a few specific requirements stand out. Australia’s Work and Holiday visa has both an education and an English language condition. You must have a tertiary qualification or have completed two years of university study, and also demonstrate at least Functional English. Australia also has a cap of 500 first visas per program year.
For the visa to Japan, you must be living in Portugal at the time of application. Canada’s IEC program is also notable as you may only participate once under any category, which includes Young Professionals and International Co-op in addition to the Working Holiday option.
This page covers the destinations in this directory only: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea. Singapore’s Work Holiday Programme is left out here because it depends on where your university is, not on your passport; see the Singapore sheet. A destination missing here may still run a program for your passport; check its official immigration site.
